International Ministry

FCA desires to fulfill our vision statement by impacting the world for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches. Currently, most of our ministry is US bordered. FCA can increase our impact through partnering with existing international ministries.

Our strategic plan will help us grow our international efforts by growing ministries and programs to equip coaches, athletes and volunteers as they grow in their faith and reach the world for Christ. In our strategic plan, we have the following:

FCA International Opportunities

FCA-Colombia Pro Basketball Team - Players Needed
 
FCA is in Colombia, South America and they are about to start a Pro Basketball Team called the Conquistadores de Cartagena as an outreach ministry to University and Professional Athletes. The team will be comprised of 12 players of which 2 can be from the United States. If you know of a strong Christian who is either a college senior about to graduate whom plays at a Division I or Division II level or a recent graduate who would like to take part of this exciting opportunity, please contact James Oilar at joilar@fca.org. The season starts the beginning of August and ends mid-November.

Summer 2009 Opportunities:
Each year, FCA offers opportunities for athletes, coaches and volunteers to serve at a variety of international sports camps. If you are interested in traveling abroad this summer to impact the athletic community for Christ, contact your local FCA staff to inquire about initiatives that might not be listed online.

Rio Verde, Mexico - June 20-27
Sports Day Camp with basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball.
Contact: Chris Kaiser (ckaiser@fca.org). Cost: $600 per person (this covers travel, housing + meals except for lunch on the sightseeing day)

Florence, Italy -- June 18-28
Sports Day Camp: basketball, volleyball, baseball
Contact: Bethany Hermes for now (Details still coming together)  Approx cost is airfare + housing/food (estimate $2200-2500). Opportunity for coaches and athletes skilled in these sports.

Impact 2009 Internship: Bobbio Pellice, Italy. This 9-week internship is for college athletes. Interns will gain a global perspective of international sports ministry while developing character and leadership skills in this cross-cultural learning environment which combines classroom teaching with hands-on training.
