On performing outside of basketball...

"I try to witness whenever I can. The best weapon I've found is through a microphone. God has also blessed me with the ability to rap a little bit. So when most people hear that "Oh, I'm rapping tonight at FCA," many people who normally wouldn't set foot in at an FCA gathering will come because they know that I play basketball for Clemson.

"Once they get there, they then find out that I'm rapping for Christ, and my rhymes are full of Scripture and encouragement and are impressed but as I tell many people, it's not me but God through me. Some people have even asked me about some of my lyrics, and I get to expound on what I was trying to convey through my flow, so that’s one way that I use my platform to the best of my abilities."

On his testimony...
"I grew up in a Christian family, so I was reared in the church. I knew what was right and what was wrong and I knew Christ, but it wasn't until I heard the 4 Chairs sermon by Adrian Despres at the FCA State Conference during my junior year when I realized I had gotten comfortable in Christ and it was to the point where I firmly believe I asked God to come back into my life because I felt like I fell apart from Christ."

On the example he tries to set for his teammates...
"I try to show my teammates that being a Christian is not just a Sunday thing. My teammates know that I don't curse, I'll do just about anything for them out of love, my favorite type of music is gospel, and that even before games I'm bumping Lecrae. I don't do it as a front, but I love God that much that I've resolved to give him everything in my life so I see basketball as another way I can praise Him and reach out to others because of it."

On his favorite Scriptures...
"I have two that I absolutely love and have helped me tremendously.

"Deuteronomy 31:6 – 'Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or tremble before them, for the Lord your God is the one who is going with you. He will not fail you or abandon you!'

"Matthew 19:26 – 'Jesus looked at them and replied, 'This is impossible for mere humans, but for God all things are possible.''

"I like these two because the first one says how God is going with me always and He will never fail me, so I don't need to be afraid of anything. Then the second one says that nothing is impossible for God. So, to me, if God is with me and for me and nothing is impossible for Him, I've got to have faith that the same applies to me because God is in me."
