Dan Carter serves as the Executive VP of Campus. A native of Brevard County, Florida, Carter attended Palm Bay High School, where he was first introduced to the ministry of FCA. After high school, he pursued a career in education, serving as a history and law teacher, football and track coach, and later as an assistant principal. During this time, God began stirring his heart toward full-time ministry. Through prayer and seeking the Lord’s guidance, Dan and his family felt called to serve with FCA.
Carter joined FCA staff in 2014 as the Area Director for Brevard County. He was later promoted to Metro Area Director for the Space and Treasure Coast and then Multi-Area Director for Florida’s Central Atlantic Region. Throughout his time with FCA, he has led with a passion for seeing God’s Word shared through the vehicle of FCA, witnessing significant ministry growth and impact. As Executive Vice President of Campus, he is responsible for leading FCA’s global campus ministry, equipping athletes and coaches to live out their faith on campus.
Dan and his wife, Kate, have been married since 2007 and are blessed with seven children — Payton, Adison, Avery, James, Karis, Isaiah and Kessid. Their family is actively involved at First Baptist Church of Melbourne, where they serve in the youth ministry and lead a life group. They enjoy spending time together outdoors, hosting people in their home and being part of the FCA mission.
