Impact2016-FBSharedFor more than 60 years, FCA has been impacting coaches and athletes for Christ across the United States.

But over the past several years, a new FCA commitment to reach athletes across the world has taken shape.

This summer, students will have the incredible opportunity to be a part of the amazing work of FCA International through the Impact Internship program on two continents. The 2016 Impact Internships are geared toward college students and designed to engage them to grow in their faith in Christ, serve in sports ministry and capture their heart for the nations.

“FCA International interns continue to impact coaches and athletes around the world,” said FCA International Executive Vice President Dan Britton. “We are excited for the opportunities this summer in Europe and South Africa, where young leaders will grow in their ability to lead spiritually, learn how to develop sports ministry programs and serve the nations. FCA teams up with committed organizations for these awesome experiences that touch lives and hearts for Jesus Christ through sports.”

Impact 2016 Europe will focus on ministering in Italy, Germany, Malta and Romania from June 2 to Aug. 4 this summer, beginning and ending in Bobbio Pellice in northwestern Italy. Through a collaboration with SRS, a member of the European Christian Sports Union, the 10-week experience is designed to send the next generation of sports leaders to into the world to impact people for Jesus Christ.

Applicants must be student-athletes who have a sports background, have spent two years in college, are willing to explore the possibility of serving in a sports ministry context and have prior FCA or other sports ministry experience. For details on the Europe internships, email Amy at amyschaalgray@gmail.com or David at dguehring@fca.org.

Impact 2016 South Africa will send students to Stellenbosch, South Africa near Cape Town from June 1-30 in a partnership with Sport for Christ Action South Africa. College students and/or post graduates from any country who are interested in sports ministry and learning how to combine this to impact the world for Christ in a discipleship context may apply. Interns will gain a global perspective of international sports ministry while developing character and leadership skills in this cross-cultural learning environment which combines classroom teaching with hands-on training.

In South Africa, interns will implement discipleship and global sports ministry training in a cross-cultural outreach environment, coupled with discipleship and personal growth experiences. Participants will also host sports camps for 10- to 14-year-old children from diverse backgrounds, be involved in whole-life coaching in an impoverished township using sports, and engage in relational development and discipleship through living and working together as a team. For additional details, contact Quinn Evans at qevans@fca.org.

The application deadline for both internships is May 1. To learn more about FCA Impact Internships, visit www.fca.org/international/impact-internship/.
