Gracie and Gloria

Gracie (L) and Gloria (R)

Camp: Black Hills Sports Camp (Spearfish, S.D.)

Campers - Tennis

- Gracie, Jr. from Kelly Walsh HS in Casper, Wy.

- Gloria, Sr. from Mountain View, HS in Loveland, Co.

“We’re here for Christ and our sport.”

Have you been to camp before?

Gracie: This is my first camp. I’m an FCA leader at my high school and knew friends from church who had talked about it. Gloria and I are roommates this week.

Gloria: This is my first camp, too. I’ve been a Huddle leader at school, and I knew Miley (tennis chaplain) from home. I was at a Power Camp last week as a Huddle leader for middle school students and Miley asked if I wanted to come to camp again, this time as a camper.

How has your experience been this week?

Gracie: I really love it. I’ve already learned so much just from the first day! It’s crazy how many people are here, but I get to see so much of the love of Jesus.

Gloria: It’s neat and fun. I really like chapel—I take in a lot and am in awe of how gracious our Lord is and how He’s brought so many people together.

Kellen Chadderdon

Camp: Black Hills Sports Camp (Spearfish, S.D.)

Huddle Leader – Swimmer, Sophomore, University of Wyoming

“I keep coming to camp for the overall experience.”

How long have you been coming to camp?

I’ve been a camper since I was like four years old. My dad is a soccer coach here (Bryan Chadderdon) and he’s been coaching at camp for a long time. This is my first year as a Huddle leader.

What are you looking forward to?

I’m excited to teach kids what I didn’t understand myself when I was younger. I hope to be relatable and show God’s love for others. I love camp, I love sports and being active, and that’s what we’re here for. But ultimately, we’re here to learn about God.

How has camp helped your own faith?

It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I really owned my faith. Before I had relied on my parents’ faith. It was my sophomore year, and at the last night at camp, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to make my faith my own.
