In just over a month, hundreds of thousands of students will gather on athletic playing fields across the country for FCA's 12th annual Fields of Faith event—a student-led and student-driven gathering that encourages young people to commit their lives to Christ.
“Fields of Faith is such an exhilarating event for FCA, as we see lives changed every year,” said FCA President and CEO Les Steckel. “Last year, more than 500 Fields of Faith gatherings helped students challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. These events are a testament that the nation’s young leaders are on the right track to keeping their lives in line with God’s playbook and making sure their friends do the same, as they stand together against the pressures and temptations of our world.”
Originated in 2004 by FCA Executive Vice President of Ministry Programs and Resources Jeff Martin, Fields of Faith is a peer-to-peer event that inspires students to refuel their faith and get back to the basics of reading God’s Word through worship and personal testimonies.
“Every year we are amazed at what God does in stadiums across the country,” Martin said. “Entire communities unite, and lives are changed for eternity right there on the athletic fields. We are excited to see how God will move again through His Word and His people this October.”
Said Micah, a past Fields of Faith attendee, “Fields of Faith was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been to. So many people were all able to worship God, at our school, in front of everyone. This is a wonderful event that all states and schools should try to start.”
Added Suzanne, another past Fields of Faith participant, “God is up to something HUGE here as the students are searching and hungry for the Truth. There is no limit to what God wants to do in the lives of HIS students, if we only allow Him to.”
In 2014, more than 185,000 students participated in 505 Fields of Faith events, where nearly 15,000 committed or recommitted their lives to Christ and another 13,711 committed to read the Bible.
