The key to reaching the ultimate standard is only through a relationship with Jesus

It’s comforting to know, as Christians, that our identity is found in a living hope...Jesus Christ!

For coaches and athletes, there are many different standards and expectations that you are held to by your teammates, your leaders, your family and even yourself. These standards can exist on the field just as much as they can exist off the field. But in the grand scheme of things, there is only one ultimate standard...perfection. It is because of the fact that Jesus gave his life on the cross and rose from the dead that we have life in Him. The only things left in the tomb are our fear, our shame and our sin! Our relationship with and identity in Jesus allow us to live to the standards that God has placed on our life as believers.

Linebacker for the New Orleans Saints and friend of the FCA, Demario Davis, spent some time with our team to share about what his identity in Christ looks like on and off the field. Take a look at this video and listen as Demario Davis explains what it means to live out the ultimate standard as a result of his identity in Jesus Christ.

As you watch this video and think through what it means to identify with Christ, you may come to the realization that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the key component that has been missing in your life. Our hope is that you would choose to step into a relationship with Jesus Christ today!

Here at the FCA, we have developed The Four as a way to present the Gospel using four simple truths.

  1. God Loves You - His love for you is boundless and unconditional

  2. Sin Separates You - Sin keeps you from experiencing the fulfilling life that God intends for you.

  3. Jesus Rescues You - At the cross, Jesus took your place and paid the penalty of death that you deserve for your sins.

  4. Will You Trust Jesus? - You can place your trust in Jesus by faith through prayer

If you are exploring a relationship with Jesus, then take the first step and learn more.

Demario’s testimony reminds listeners that it’s not about “who you are” more so than “whose you are”. Remember, we are bought with a price and it’s because of Jesus and what He did for us on the cross that we are able to live out the ultimate standard that God has placed on our life.
