FCA is proud to announce longtime FCA friend Clint
Herring as the new
Board of Trustees Chair. Herring is currently the
President and CEO of the Kerioth Corporation and lives with his wife Terri in
Ridgeland, Mississippi.
“FCA has been
tremendously blessed with a rich tradition of the Board of Trustees Chairs
leading with great humility and excellence for nearly seven decades,” said FCA
President and CEO Shane Williamson. “Clint Herring, the incoming Chair, brings
the qualities of godliness, humility and tremendous FCA experience. We are
excited to see how the Lord will work in and through Clint to continue to help
FCA accomplish its vision and mission.”
Herring has been active in sport-related ministry since his high
school days when he was introduced to the Institute
of Athletic Perfection by his football coach.
“The
Institute of Athletic Perfection was run by a man named Wes Neal and that was
my first experience in sports ministry,” stated Herring. “After high school, I
went to college at Mississippi State and my football coach was named Bill
Buckner. Bill got me more invested in FCA. Because of the impact it had on me,
I started supporting FCA around 21 years old. Fast forward, and nine years ago
I was asked to be on the Mississippi State Board for FCA. Bill asked me how I
got involved with sports ministry and I told him about Wes Neal and the
Institute of Athletic Perfection in high school. Bill turned to me and told me
that Wes was his best friend! It’s amazing to see how God prepared me for my
future role with FCA.”
After serving on the FCA Mississippi State Board
for seven years, Herring served on FCA's main Board of Trustees
for a year before being asked to be Chair.
“What’s
been so rewarding is it’s full circle for me,” Herring commented. “I love
athletics and I love the ministry. When you put the kingdom of God in the mix,
it just opens the doors to create connections and bond over shared experiences.
Providing shared experiences—something you can taste, touch, see—in conjunction
with faith is powerful because it’s something no one can take away. Athletes
come and have their lives transformed by the power of Christ.
“It’s been
super, super special to me as an individual to be able to serve and to do
everything I can for the kingdom of God through FCA. FCA is taking territory
for the kingdom of God, and I am proud to be part of it.”
