FCA is proud to induct eight new partners and supporters of the world’s largest international sports ministry into its Hall of Champions (HOC).

Timothy and Carol Bresnahan, Joe Owen, Brian and Heidi Wikstrom, Chip and Jenifer Skinner, and Brian Brazil have worked tirelessly to further the FCA vision: to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. FCA Hall of Champions honorees over the years have consisted of a mix of coaches, athletes and volunteers, including sports greats such as Tony Dungy, Tom Landry, Tom Osborne and Roger Staubach, to name a few.

“These selfless and giving individuals have not only made contributions to the sports they love, but also to the communities and teams to which they are committed,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “We are immensely grateful for their service to Jesus Christ through FCA, as we honor Timothy and Carol Bresnahan, Joe Owen, Brian and Heidi Wikstrom, Chip and Jenifer Skinner, and Brian Brazil by welcoming them to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Hall of Champions Class of 2023.”

Timothy and Carol Bresnahan

Timothy and Carol Bresnahan
Tim and Carol Bresnahan have served FCA for 50 years in many roles within the ministry including coach, donor, board member, speaker and volunteer. During his early years as a golf coach, Tim took buses of athletes across the country to attend FCA Camps, and he has shared his testimony with thousands of people in northeast Indiana throughout the years. Carol played a vital role in ensuring Tim was able to attend as many banquets and functions as possible. The Bresnahans have helped grow the ministry to what it is today.

Joe Owen’s heart for inner city athletes has inspired many. He personally supported many teens and provided scholarships that sent hundreds of athletes to FCA Camp. Owen was instrumental in recruiting FCA staff in Virginia and has worked tirelessly to raise over one million dollars for ministry needs. He’s been a faithful supporter, recruited dozens of volunteers and support partners, volunteered at team chapels and local ministry events, and introduced many coaches at the University of Richmond to FCA. Owen has lived out the core values of FCA with quiet confidence and resolute determination.

Brian Brazil
As a coach for over 30 years throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Brian Brazil always had FCA as a part of his programs. Oftentimes, he led FCA on the campuses he was on, beginning from when he was a student and Huddle Leader at Texas Christian University (TCU). Brazil had a tremendous heart for the Lord, which was exemplified in how he coached his athletes and led his coaches and programs. Brazil’s leadership impacted thousands of coaches and student-athletes throughout the decades. Brian passed away this summer after a battle with cancer.
