FCA Dominican Republic Team Camp, held in April and September, invites four baseball teams from four difference cities in the DR to The Highlands Sports and Events Complex in Boca Chica for three days of round robin games, with players and coaches split into ten Huddles that met four times throughout camp.

"It is such a blessing to be able to take 80 young men and their coaches to a beautiful facility in order to serve them and share Jesus with them,” said Mike Shaheen, Director of FCA Dominican Republic.

Each participant received meals, a game t-shirt jersey with number and “Invicto” (Undefeated) on the back, and an FCA Camp Bible. On the afternoon of the second day, athletes participate in the Gospel Games, a three part event consisting of a swimming relay, volleyball and an obstacle course.

Nightly testimonies are shared, along with keynote speakers who share a message of the gospel and power of Christ. A total of 300 coaches, athletes and staff attended the camps. In April, eight decisions to follow Christ were made, four in September.

Shaheen and fellow staff follow up with coaches and athletes after camp to hearten them in their walk with Christ.

"We are really trying to reach the young men in this country,” he said. “Most of our teachings and testimonies [at camp] focus on authentic manhood as taught and represented in the Word of God."
