With a vision is to establish a church in each of the 21,000 unchurched Philippine communities by 2020, FCA Philippines is on the move to reach more and more coaches and athletes with the gospel.

They are adamant this vision, dubbed 21K, can be accomplished through sports, one of the most effective vehicles to bridge communities and relationships. They’ve most recently strengthened these relationships through sports radio and a sports conference.

FCA Philippines participated with the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches and other ministry organizations in the Game Changer Sports Conference. Almost 4,000 coaches, athletes, fans, businesses and churches attended. The FCA Philippines staff organized the prayer committee and exhibition game between professional basketball players, and dedicated time and resources to equip coaches from the heart through R12 Coach and 3Dimensional Coaching to deepen impact and influence on athletes.

This day-long event was birthed out of an observation that while the 21,000 communities don’t have a church, they all have a basketball court, and Game Changer was meant to launch sports platforms to share the love of Christ and meet the people in these communities right where they are.

Additionally, they are partnering with a Christian radio network for the first ever sports radio program, Heart & Strength: Sports in the Philippines. Heart & Strength is an hour radio program hosted by FCA Manila area directors Jojo and Janet Villa that covers sports news, testimonies of coaches and athletes and Huddle time. It is currently aired in four key cities in the Philippines with a reach of millions of coaches and athletes across the country.

“We are very excited with this new development in our FCA ministry in the Philippines,” said Pastor Gary Visitacion, FCA Philippines National Director. “We did not expect that in less than two years of airing our radio program, we would be airing in four key cities in the Philippines, and working out on our fifth. We appreciate the partnership of Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) in this opportunity of reaching out to coaches and athletes through the airwaves.”
