The East Asia Global Region held its first ever Coaches’ Ministry Academy for 57 leaders. Through casting vision and sharing coaching strategies, leaders narrowed their intentional focus into transforming coaches at deeper levels and established a foundation for coaching deeply and impacting their players.

“We wanted to cast vision among the 18 countries in the East Asia region, and take these principles and training to reach a wider audience,” Abby*, who serves sports leaders in East Asia, said. “The hope is that the trainees take this to their home countries and start a movement there.”

The FCA training team presented ways to lead coaches on their own inside-out development and to equip them with knowledge and confidence to lead their athletes on their own walks of life.

Abby believes sharing values-based coaches training is a great bridge into showing life values, while still being sensitive to the limitations of the trainers to secular coaches in restricted countries. Teaching values like "teamwork" and "loving your neighbor" is a common thread across the globe and is woven into the deeper fabrics of the emotional and spiritual levels, as well. She’d like to see exponential growth, which is a good indication of the waves coaching ministry is making across East Asia.

God’s Kingdom is growing through the development and heart investment of coaches. With great enthusiasm, the East Asia Global Region wants leaders to own this training and take it with them back home to transform lives within their countries. They recognize the generous and poignant influences coaches have to affect athletes, fans, and athletic staff to show Jesus Christ.

Many leaders felt they only touched the tip of the iceberg of coaches ministry and want to dive deeper, as what is to come is only the beginning when God moves in countries through sport.
