Q: How did you get connected with FCA?

I went to FCA Camps (and even attended Leadership Camp in Marshall, Indiana) during high school. The Lord kept me connected to FCA afterwards. I’ve spoken at the local FCA Huddles and participated in the See You at the Pole™ prayer movement. When I served as a WNBA chaplain, FCA helped me minister to players and coaches by obtaining Bibles and devotionals, leading weekly Bible studies, and sponsoring our pre-season cookout.

Q: How and why do you support the ministry of FCA?

When I was involved in FCA during high school, the idea of a daily quiet time took root in my life, and this is reaping a harvest in my life to this day. FCA taught me what’s important in life. As an athlete, it is easy to lose sight of this and to find your identity in what you do rather than whose you are. FCA helped strengthen my walk with Christ, and it’s a privilege for my husband Tim and I to give to FCA today. We see it as an investment in eternity, an investment into the lives of those who the Lord can touch through FCA.

Q: Do You use any FCA resources?

I currently use the Coach’s Bible, and I have used FCA devotionals and Gospel tracts when mentoring players. During my time in the WNBA, God led us to minister to the players by making brownies each game. On every brownie package, we attached an FCA Gospel tract or Scripture verse to it.

Q: How has FCA helped you to grow in Christ?

One of the biggest ways I’ve grown in Christ is through prayer. Currently, I am a prayer partner with Kim Boyce who is on staff with FCA in Central Florida. Praying for those who serve in the ministry is one of the greatest ways God keeps my eyes on Jesus. It is so easy to focus on yourself, but prayer always brings you back to the source: Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Praying for Kim and FCA has taught me that life is not about me, it is about furthering my Father’s Kingdom and staying focused on His agenda, not mine.
