On the Move

As the start of your sports season is getting close, you reflect back on what last season looked like. You played well and accomplished a lot, but you decide to hit the gym an extra day and work harder to become faster, stronger and more agile. Why? Because you know you can accomplish even more!

The same can be said for our spiritual lives. No matter the accomplishments, achievements or levels of success you’ve already experienced in life, God still has and wants more for you. His very best for your life lies ahead of you. God entrusts us with a mission and now desires to expand that which we can accomplish in and through Him.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works.”  (John 14:12a)

 

LISTEN

We need to be confident in knowing that Jesus can expand our mission.

FCA_Expands_1800x1800Are you hesitant believing that God can do more through you? If you are in a right relationship with God, His desires and intentions for your life are sure. He desires to build upon how you are wired and move you from strength to greater strength and from impact to greater impact. That is His plan for every believer who calls Him Lord.

No matter what your expectation or perspective of what the “best of life” may have looked like for you, it is only the beginning of the greater thing God has for you.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

 

OBEY

We need to be attentive and obey when He calls us to expand.

As we continue to work hard to become better at our sport and stronger as an athlete, we have to listen to our coaches. When a strength coach tells you to increase the weight in your bench press or change the way you position yourself to make a blindside block, you must be attentive and heed that instruction. It’s when we trust and obey that instruction that we begin to experience the expansion in our talent.

God wants to speak to us about the ways He wants to expand our reach. Are we listening?

We need to be attentive and obey when He calls us to expand.Eliminate the things that are standing in the way of God using your passions, purpose and potential. Be attentive to the words of the Lord and ask the Father to reveal the ways you can experience expansion. Believe that His best for you is ahead, follow up in God’s Word, then get ready to receive it.

 

EXPAND

All the glory belongs to the Lord as He expands your influence and provides you with more opportunity for impact.

As we continue to stretch ourselves as athletes and work harder at being better, we break records, attract the attention of scouts, play at the next level of our sport and we may even go pro.

How do we respond? Where does the glory belong?

When God used Peter and John to heal the lame man at the gate called Beautiful, Peter addressed those around him that the healing was not done by his own power or godliness. As a matter of fact, it was a result of faith in the name of Jesus that the lame man was healed.

“By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Him has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.” (Acts 3:16)

 

Expand Our ReachBe attentive and obedient to the Lord’s calling on your life to expand. But never forget that this expansion and opportunity for influence is a direct result of the goodness of God and His desire for you to reach your absolute full potential for Him.

Are you hesitant with how much you think you can do? Begin to realize that we can’t expand on our own. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can reach our full potential for Him.

Ask your Heavenly Father today to begin to prepare you in your mission. Ask Him to reveal ways in which you can begin the pursuit of your full potential in Christ. Then watch for His movement and answer.

When He speaks, listen.

When He instructs, obey.

When He expands, give Him the glory!
