FCA is excited to announce that Steve Jones, longtime supporter of FCA, is the first ever Executive Vice President (EVP) of FCA's All Ability Sports.

In this position, Jones will oversee FCA's ministry to athletes and coaches with cognitive or physical disabilities to further the FCA mission and vision, as well as work closely with the support departments and advancement lanes and will also ensure the ongoing connectivity with field leaders who are responsible for All Ability.

“Since 2016, God planted a seed in the hearts of FCA leadership with one question that set off a chain reaction of prayer, contemplation and exploration into the realm of All Ability Sports and how FCA ministers to coaches and athletes with cognitive or physical impairments,” said FCA Chief Sport Officer Josh Gilreath. “After beginning to pray for God to raise up His leader to serve in this area, we are thrilled that the man who sparked FCA’s journey into All Ability is the same man who will take the helm of this sport environment. God has made it clear that He has called Steve Jones as FCA’s first Executive Vice President of All Ability Sports!”

Based in Wales, Jones spent the past two years serving as the Chief Executive of 360Ability Sport, a UK non-profit organization that serves the world of All Ability sport. A pastor with over 20 years of experience, Jones was a volunteer chaplain for a professional rugby team and then moved into a voluntary chaplaincy and character coach with a wheelchair rugby team. In 2012, Jones was a Sport Chaplain in the Athletes Village at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London.

Jones has long been an advocate for All Ability athletics. In 2018, he went to Australia as part of the chaplaincy team at the Commonwealth Games. After learning of a need for wheelchairs that could handle the rough nature of rugby in Kenya, Jones used various contacts to provide eight wheelchairs for the players in Kenya — enough for a rugby team. The wheelchair procurement and distribution project slid open the doors for more opportunities to share the Gospel, both to the people at home in Wales as well as those receiving the chairs in Kenya.

Jones commented, “I am extremely humbled to be asked to take on this wider role with FCA and am excited to see how the Lord will lead us in the months and years to come. I’ll be bringing my experience to help develop strategies and resources to help FCA teams everywhere to effectively begin and then multiply All Ability sports.”
