What is most important in life? What consumes our thoughts? What is our passion?

These are important questions to ask ourselves when considering how to steward what God has given us and how we can be part of sharing Christ. Our answers to these questions affect everything.

If you own a sports car and love it, you will willingly spend money for its tune ups and to get it washed. If your thinking is consumed with fashion, let’s face it, you will not miss a Nordstrom sale. It’s easy to use our resources to support our passions and interests. When it comes to sharing Christ, it works the same way.

FIRST THINGS FIRST"There are many ways to use our resources to this end. Sometimes the obvious way is to give financially, but that is not the most important resource we can offer to God." -Valishia Chapman
Spreading the Gospel is one of my husband’s and my biggest passions. There are many ways to use our resources to this end. Sometimes the obvious way is to give financially, but that is not the most important resource we can offer to God.

God wants our lives first (Matthew 22:27). When we have surrendered everything to Him, our natural desire will be to offer our resources to His work and give to others to share His love.

Nine years ago, my husband and I learned about FCA and its mission. We quickly jumped on board to help however was needed because we want to help share the hope of Jesus with everyone (Matthew 22:29), especially coaches and athletes. We said yes to wholeheartedly sharing our resources, and God got creative.

OFFICE SPACE
When my husband learned about our FCA Director’s need for office space, he offered his own space for our local FCA to use. For several years, my husband’s company was blessed to have FCA staff members working in his office side by side. We got to be involved in sharing the Gospel through our resource of office space as the FCA staff met and strategized how to reach our community.

PIZZA DROPS
A mom at my son’s high school asked me to volunteer and drop off pizza at the FCA Huddle once a month. A few donors had already paid for the pizzas, but they needed people to deliver them. Using my lqkC2FtEresource, a car, to drop off the pizzas allowed me to further the Gospel. The pizzas got students to attend the Huddle where they were discipled each week.

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Our FCA Director asked me to join his golf tournament committee and I gladly said yes. I gave my resource of time. The funds we raised provided scholarships for athletes to attend FCA Sports Camp at UCLA. I knew kids would attend camp, grow in their sport, and deepen their relationships with Jesus Christ.

Over the last nine years, I’ve helped plan additional golf tournaments, donor appreciation dinners, and a gala with Drew Brees. These events have created some of the most rewarding times of my life, and the friendships I’ve formed are priceless. I can see the fruits of my labor when I hear about what’s happening at FCA and about how the funds we’ve raised support our local staff, provide camp scholarships and get Bibles and discipleship training books into the hands of coaches and athletes.

TESTIMONY
My story with God is one of the most valuable resources I can share with the world. On several occasions, I have been asked to share my testimony at FCA Huddles and events. I freely share because the world needs to hear about my incredible God. By sharing, I am spreading the Gospel to everyone who hears.

GIVE FREELY
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. Love demonstrates itself by giving (John 3:16). We must first give ourselves to God. Once we do, it will be a natural desire to use our resources, whatever they are, to share His love with the world.

Prayer: Father, I am grateful for the resources You have given me. Show me how to offer them wholeheartedly so others can come to know you. Amen.
