To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

This is the vision of FCA. What began as a vision trip to Ukraine ten years ago has grown into an expansion of global ministry in 115 countries around the world. At this year’s International Capacity Conference (ICC) in Orlando February 25-29, the remarkable decade milestone was not only celebrated, but proffered as a benchmark for moving ministry forward for the next ten years and beyond.

263 leaders from 73 countries were represented at ICC. The week consisted of daily heart-stirring worship and Bible teaching, workshops and training, and plenty of time for friendly sports competition, faith, fellowship and fun.

“ICC is always a place I can count on having my soul refreshed by the gathering of my beautiful brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the world,” said Caitlen Barron, FCA Leader in Canada. “Nowhere else can I find such an amazing group of people who long to learn from each other, encourage one another and genuinely love each other despite the distance. These are the times that I am encouraged to keep pushing forward in the work that God has called me to even when it is heavy and difficult, and to remember the family from around the world with the same calling.”

At the celebration dinner on the last night, four awards based on the FCA Core Values of Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence were given out to the individual who best exemplified the Global Division’s assigned Core Value.

Integrity – Terry Lingenhoel (Hungary)

Serving – Ernest Hallowell (Sierra Leone)

Teamwork – William Chang (Malaysia)

Excellence – Gustavo Rivero Diaz (Venezuela)

At the end of the evening, FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson marked the incredible history of FCA with the intention of truly uniting under One Global Mission, commissioning one another for every coach and athlete across every country. Each leader took home a flag from another country and committed to pray for its ministry to form or strengthen, solidifying the vision and mission to reach even further into the nations.

Leaders left inspired to be bold in their faith, and with sharper vision for ministry in their areas.

“The morning Bible teachings and sharing the Gospel as our job has been impactful,” said Japan Leader Motoki Oba. “FCA wants to see the world changed through the Gospel, and my mission is the same. I want to see the Japanese people changed through the influence of Jesus.”

Leaders not only championed one another in their callings; it went deeper than that.

“This week was impactful for me to see how we are working together. We are family,” said Chile Leader Benjamin Sepulveda.

It’s more than ministry; it’s family. And the best is still to come.
