With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas
holiday, it can be easy to turn away from the true reason for the season.
However, FCA is reminding coaches and athletes across America that Christmas is
first and foremost a celebration of the gift of the Savior.
This month, as we reflect on the birth of our Savior, we are
reminded of what Jesus has done to offer us the free gift of salvation, and all
He has done with FCA,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “We are
humbled and grateful for all the student-athletes who came to know Him this
year through the ministry.”
In the past fiscal year from September 2023 to
August 2024, FCA saw 53,158 total faith decisions — 43,065 in
the United States and 10,093 internationally — through its various Camps,
Huddles, Fields of Faith events and other
opportunities. This staggering number reveals the desire in many coaches and
athletes to have a relationship with their Savior — something that FCA is
dedicated to fostering.
FCA is committed to engaging
coaches and athletes with the Gospel, equipping them with God’s Word, and
empowering them with The Great Commission. As a part of their discipleship
strategy, FCA distributed 219,444 Bibles in 2024, and over the
last 15 years has distributed nearly three million.
FCA’s theme for 2024 is“24/7,” based on Romans 15:13 CSB: “Now may the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.” FCA reminds
Christian coaches and athletes that their identity and value is in Christ
rather than their sport.
