ABOUT FIELDS OF FAITH
Fields of Faith is a student-led and student-driven event where young people gather to stand together against the pressures and temptations in our world and be a generation committed to reading the Bible and applying it to life. Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read God’s Word and follow Jesus Christ.
HOW DID FIELDS OF FAITH BEGIN?
In 2002, FCA Executive Director of Campus Sport Ministry, former Oklahoma State Director, Jeff Martin, prayed about what to do with his heartfelt frustration regarding the temptations and spiritual battles facing our “spectator generation” youth. God led him to 2 Chronicles 34 for the answer. King Josiah, an influential young leader, gathered his people and challenged them to read God’s Word. As a result, they changed their culture. In 2004, the Josiah-influenced dream came true when more than 6,000 students gathered on school athletic fields throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas for Fields of Faith. Through the student-led events, more than 100 students made decisions for Christ. Since that day, more than two million people have attended Fields of Faith and thousands have accepted Christ all over the world. Every year across the country, and now internationally, hundreds of stadiums transform into places of hope and light during one fall evening for students to step up and refuel their faith. It is a time when students challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ.
