FCA Staff Quote: “Ken is a great blessing to FCA in the Pacific Northwest Region. He is a committed husband, father and disciple of Jesus who is being used by God in FCA to impact coaches and athletes throughout southern Idaho. In December 2012, more than 700 community members gathered for the FCA Bowl Breakfast in Boise. Additionally, under Ken’s leadership the Pacific Northwest Region FCA Sports Camp has grown from 117 campers in 2009 to 445 in 2013. We are encouraged by the influence Ken is having in his area and through the Pacific Northwest and appreciate all he has done and continues to do to share Christ with coaches and athletes in Idaho and beyond.” – Field VP Ron Frank

My FCA story: As a high school biology teacher and wrestling coach in 1997, I started a small Bible study with three male athletes. It soon became an FCA Huddle, and I ended up serving as Huddle Coach there for eight years.

During that time I started taking kids from southern Idaho to FCA Camps in Wyoming and Oregon. It was a recharging time for me as a coach, and I always left camp yearning for other kids and coaches from back home to be there with us.

In 2003, several coaches and I started a coach’s Huddle in the Boise area. The FCA director position became available in spring 2005, and the Lord led me to apply. It has been a great adventure ever since and a huge blessing from the Lord to serve here in Idaho.

Most challenging aspect: Spreading ourselves out enough to make sure we’re covering the large area of Idaho and eastern Oregon.

What I love about FCA: Seeing kids and coaches come to Christ and have their identity found in Him. It’s also a privilege to work alongside our incredible leadership board and numerous volunteers.

Recent ministry highlight: Serving as the director for the Pacific Northwest Regional Camp the last four years and witnessing all the growth and the lives touched through FCA Camp.

3 Prayer Requests:

1. Need for more staff and funding for the large area we minister to in Idaho and eastern Oregon. The harvest is ripe!

2. Idaho Potato Bowl FCA Breakfast with Bobby Bowden on December 20, 2013.

3. Continued spiritual growth in our athletes, coaches and FCA leaders.
