What do you pursue?
For many coaches and athletes, feelings of uncertainty, confusion, loss and disappointment can seem like an undeniable reality. However, the truth is that our identity in Christ is greater than our identity in sports. It’s our confidence in Christ
that wipes away any uncertainty of this world.
Much like we pursue our goals in sports, God does the same with us. He pursues us. He loves us and accepts us as we are. Success is no longer defined by our skills. With Him, we can leave the pressure of performance behind. With Him, we’re already
a winner. His sacrifice for us gives us significance. We have a new purpose when we play. We can pursue the mission He has paved for us: a relationship with Him.
Let's pursue Jesus Christ, together.
FCA relies on volunteers—the heartbeat of ministry—to directly reach and influence coaches and athletes as they navigate their faith in and out of the sports world. Whether you’re a Huddle leader, Character Coach or board member, we
want to equip you to do the ministry alongside us. We’re excited about the 2021 ministry theme, Pursue, and want to you to be a part of how our annual ministry works and give you an opportunity to further dive into available content.
FCA's Annual Ministry Theme
FCA’s annual theme gives everyone in our ministry a starting point for their content creation as they minister to coaches and athletes. Each theme runs from January to December and features a large supply of resources and professionally designed
templates for you to use. The annual theme also allows local ministry to be connected to the global movement of FCA and unify its diversity worldwide by leveraging shared content.
We greatly anticipate what God will do this year as we stand shoulder to shoulder to Pursue a growing relationship with Christ and our coaches and athletes for Kingdom impact.

What’s the truth we want coaches and athletes to experience this year?
It’s important that we continue exercising the truth that our identity in Christ is greater than our identity in sports by pursuing Jesus and the calling that He has on our life for this next season. Our prayer is that coaches and athletes
will move from a state of uncertainty to a position of confidence as a result of their pursuit of Jesus.
Quarter One (January-March): Pursue Truth
- Rather than pursuing material things that won’t last, it’s important to pursue the ultimate truth that can only be found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can be in pursuit of that truth by reading Scripture, praying and desiring accountability
with other believers.
Quarter Two (April-June): Pursue Life
- It’s important to not be consumed with unhealthy motivations that drive you into meaningless pursuits. If we open our heart to God and allow Him to examine it, we will find ourselves in a position of surrender that will help us pursue the rich
and satisfying life that can be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Quarter Three (July-September): Pursue Team
- Part of taking the next step in your faith journey is to realize that we can’t go it alone. We need a righteous and encouraging team to do life with! Answering the question of “who” we have in our lives is essential to move forward
in pursuit of a growing faith life.
Quarter Four (October-December): Pursue Mission
- God has a specific calling on each of our lives. It’s important to begin to pursue our mission and start walking in the fullness of what God has laid out for us to do. When we see a much bigger picture of what’s in store for us, everything
changes when we finally understand that our mission is ultimately tied to a relationship with Christ.
